Janesville PTO is a locally run Parent Teacher Organization. All funds that are raised are used to benefit Janesville School, its students, faculty/staff and the
JUS programs and facilities.
Our First Annual DASH N DYE Run/Walk Event will first focus on supplying supplemental curriculmn and facility repairs that the school cannot afford.
Janesville PTO has plans for the following projects:
* Continue to supply teachers and classrooms with Classroom sets of Scholastic News Weekly Readers and National Geographic.(This cost was over $2000 last year)
* Build stairs next to the kindergarten building. (There is a steep slope with dirt/gravel that kids and adults use as a shortcut, and too many people have fallen, causing a safety hazard.)
* Install the "Gift Bricks" in the garden area of the school.
Here are a few of the things Janesville PTO has purchased or done with past fundraiser funds:
Laminating Machine
Sunblocking curtains for the gym
Copy machine for the Food Service Office in the cafeteria
Classroom sets of Scholastic News Weekly Readers (teachers have asked we continue this program)
Construction of new benches for outside the 7th & 8th grade classrooms
School-wide presentations and assemblies
Coordinating the Chinese Foreign Exchange Student Program
P.E. Equipment
Donated funds to the JUS Garden Club for classroom sets of garden tools
Scholarship funds: The Ruth Lagier Award (for students attaining a 4.0 GPA)
Donated funds for Playground equipment
Raised money for the JUS library
Marquee sign
